Adam Tepper, CEO of Austrailia-based bitcoin exchange Independent Reserve has died in Thailand. Reports inform that he was in a motorcycle crash.
Thirty four years old Adam Tepper was a Melbourne resident. He was from Langwarrin. He went to Thailand for a vacation and never returned home. The Phuket Gazette reported that his body was found in Wiset Road’s Sai Yuan Junction, under a wrecked traffic sign.
The motorcycle which he was riding, however, was around 30 meters away from the body. Mr. Tepper killed in an accident when his motorbike slammed into the back of a trailer, which was parked in the middle of the city.
DFAT is offering consular assistance to Mr. Tepper’s family. Dianna Tepper, the victim’s dejected mother, mentioned that when the fatal accident took placem he was not wearing a safety helmet.
She urged everyone to always wear a helmet. She said, “Please don’t ever get on a motorbike without a helmet. If it saves one life, I’m happy.”
Captain Thada Sodarak of Chalong Police confirmed the information. He said, “Mr Tepper was not wearing a helmet and struck his head on the sign — he died instantly.
I believe he was moving very fast at the time of the crash, as part of the sign pole was buried a metre underground, and it was pulled out by the impact.” The local police confirmed that he died because of the crash’s impact.
In Phuket, Mr. Tepper became member of The Ao Chalong Yacht Club. The club posted a tribute message on their Facebook page and website earlier today.
