On the other side supporters and scientists defend the research program by telling us what genetic engineering has done for us, for our advancement and betterment. Because of genetic engineering they have improved and created new kinds of medicine, because of genetic engineering food quality has been improved and at the same time, its shelf life has been increased beyond what we could do before. But in some accounts, the technology of genetic engineering has yet to be proven safe. Speculations then aroused, society has begun to question whether or not genetic engineering is liable for the declining human lifespan.
