I use a computer personally when I want to type up my work. I also do my English homework on my computer and a lot other home works and course works. I research information for my course works and I also research information for anything else I need.

I can find pictures and other items I want from the Internet for my work to brighten it up. When a teacher tells me to make a poster I sometimes make it on the computer to make it neat and eye catching. I don't need to colour the pictures with hand if I am making a poster at home I can just instead get pictures off the internet and paste them into Microsoft Paint and if they are black and white I can add a lot of colour to them. I burn music to my CDs if the music I want if it is on the computer and I also can put music on my MP3 player.I can use the calculator on the computer if I can't find my calculator at home and I can do my math homework. Microsoft Power Point allows me to make presentations for lessons that I need to make a presentation.

I use a computer when I am bored and I can plays games on my computer because when I bought my computer it had already got a few games downloaded on. I can also download games or buy games from different places. I use Microsoft Excel when I need to make a grid with different working-outs. I use a computer when I need to make a leaflet or anything else on different programs.I can put my music on different play lists to make them according to what year they came out to make them in a neat list. I can get whatever music I want from different websites rather than going to a shop and looking for the album I want.

I use a computer to organise my files, example if I have loads of paper on my desk and it is annoying, I just scan it on the computer and I save it on Microsoft Word and then I can put all the papers I have scanned on the computer I can put the papers in the shread machine. I can manage them by putting them in the different files I can make on Microsoft Word. While I am doing my work I can listen to music with Windows Media Player and the earphones plugged into the speaker. I use it personally when I want to download pictures from my camera.I copy my work up to the computer and I go on Google to look for pictures to brighten up my work. I use paint to design pictures and to make cards and to buy stuff off the web.

I search for different music's off the web from special websites. A USB cord allows me to put music from the computer to my MP3 player or even on my mobile MP3 player. When I take photos with my mobile I can use a USB cord to download the music from my mobile to the computer and then print it off or burn them on a disc. When I am doing my boring homework I can play music from on the computer to the speakers connected to my computer and if it is disturbing others around me I can put earphones into the ear phone slot on the speaker and listen to the music. I use the Internet to make a website for my self because I find it fun and sometimes I am very bored and I can play games from the Internet.

2. Does the technology really meet your personal needs, if so how and if not why not? A computer meets my needs personally because it has nearly every program I need installed on it. I can do anything I want on my computer, for example I can go on the Internet and browse and I can type my work up and do different presentations. While I am doing my work I can listen to music and burn music at the same time. A computer can do several things at once.

It also meets my needs when I need to put music on my MP3 player. If I need to go on the Internet I can easily access the Internet and I can search different things for different homework or coursework's.I can achieve higher marks for my course works if I research a lot and find good images from Google. I use a computer personally when I am studying or typing my work.

I also use it to search the web for important information that I need. I use a computer for most lessons to type my work up or research information. I use it personally when I want to download pictures from my camera. When I go on to educational trips I take pictures of the important stuff their and I use it for my coursework by downloading the photos onto the computer and I copy and paste the picture onto my coursework.

I also copy my work up to the computer and I go on Google to look for pictures to brighten up my work. I use paint to design pictures and to make cards and to buy stuff off the web. I search for different music's off the web from special websites and I get music to burn on to my CDs.I also use a computer to put music on my Mp3 player so when I am out I can listen to music.

When I bought my computer about five games where already installed and I can play them.

3. What are the disadvantages in using the technology personally? (Law) The disadvantages of a computer is that I can download music form the internet to get music to burn on my CD or I might put music on my MP3 player and download music onto my computer or mobile. I get all the music off an illegal website and I am doing crime. If my computer brakes down it would cost a lot to fix and it would be difficult to get all the programs on the computer I have installed restored. If I have done my course work on the computer and it stops working or the computer freezes there is a low percent of my work recovering if I haven't saved my work. If I have saved my work and the computer is messed, my work that I have saved could all be deleted and if they are my course work I am in big trouble.

Someone might brake into my house and steal my computer because computers are very expensive technologies and if they steal them they could make a lot of money out of it. If I go on websites, which are not safe, they might have viruses and so that could mess my computer and it would cost a lot to get repaired. If I get a virus people could access my files and if they have important information example my bank details cold be saved on the computer and then people can get into my computer if I don't have a firewall. The disadvantage of a computer is that a computers screen can ruin my eyes and that means my eyes would need glasses till the end of my life.I sometimes would be thinking to laser my eyes when that would happen and that would solve the matter but I was wrong because after the age of late forties my eye sight would turn back to what it use to be before I lasered my eyes.

Did you know more than 40% of crime happens from the Internet while I am working on my computer. The pop ups that appear on my screen are not just pop ups to advertise different stuff but they are asking me in several different complicated ways asking me if they can access the files of my computer or not but I am normally too busy playing my game or doing my work that I just accept to every pop up to get them out the way.4. What alternatives are there for the technology? (They may not be ICT) Instead of a computer I can use the newspapers to cut out pictures and put them on my homework. I can also use the newspaper to get information to use and I can learn good information. If I need to type up my work I can type my work up with a typewriter and it takes less time to type.

A typewriter prints the work off as I am typing my work up. A typewriter uses different ink to print than the one that I use for the printer. I can also use books to get my information and I can also use the library to get my information from. The library has nearly every book I need to get my information from. Magazines could help me if I need pictures for my homework or coursework's. I can use a calculator to do my calculations rather than use the calculator on the computer.

I can go to the shops to buy stuff or buy stuff from a catalogue rather than buying items from the Internet. I can use the television to get information from and the tele text to get information too. If I need to find the winning lottery numbers from the computer I can instead go on tele text on the television and find the winning numbers. If I want to find out what the weather is for the days coming instead of going on a computer I could check the weather from the television, the newspapers and I could find out from my mobile.

If I need to email or chat to my friends I can do it from my mobile. I can also read if they had emailed me. I use the time and calendar on my computer but instead I can use a paper one. Instead of I using paint on the computer I can do it my self on an A4 piece of paper with all sort of coloured pens and pencils. I can play board games or games on my mobile without a computer.
