Because the world is advancing to greater depths of technology, teachers are responsible for cultivating, growing and maturing pupils into being fully capable function members of society.

Teachers will foster and aid pupils into becoming well- knowledgeable 21 SST century citizens by Integrating technology Into the curriculum and Instruction. Integrating new levels of technology to facilitate learning in the classroom will not only enhance classroom instruction, it will also produce members of society who has a prior knowledge of the various forms of technology and how they operate. One of the most integral parts of a successful instructional classroom is technology. As long as there is a clear purpose for the use of technology during instruction, It will be vital component in the classroom.

There are several ways technology can be used In the classroom to facilitate and enhance learning. Allowing pupils to collaborate abstract concepts using Pads as an aid to reach sound decisions; teachers using document cameras to model tedious assessments for visual learners; and replacing dry-erase boards with Smart boards are all technological advancements that are used to facilitate learning. Incorporating pads into the classroom brings learning to life. Interacting technology, such as technology makes learning more engaging and enjoyable.

Anne Laurel, a child psychologist states that with the use of Pads, many students learn more efficiently and has a more accurate understanding of abstract concepts” (Ban 2010). With the use of Pads In the classroom teachers will put pupils in groups, give them an abstract concepts with an pad and allow pupils to work through the problem collectively with the pad as a resource. Using this strategy not only facilitates learning, it also produces life-long skill sets that pupils will need such as effective communication, the use of technology, and critical thinking.

Teachers will encourage scaffolding among pupils to expand the zone of proximal development. In addition to Incorporating Pads, teachers will use document cameras as visual representations to modeling assessments. Education Philosopher, Tim Beadle, states, “the document camera is an intricate component in modeling content- specific materials to students’ everyday’ (Beadle 2012). The teacher will conduct a scientific experiment and use the document camera as visual When the teacher does this, pupils will follow along, giving them visual direction instead of Just vocal.

Additionally, teachers can use the document camera to create visual models for pupils in various content- specific areas. Teachers will use document cameras in math to present visual representation of evaluating expressions. Teachers will use the document camera as a visual means for pupils to follow along in reading material. Teachers will use the document camera and pupils will better understand what is being required to be successful and to become knowledgeable of the standard that is being taught.

Furthermore, Smart boards will be used to further facilitate learning. The Smart board is used as piece of technology to engage pupils into learning in various forms than the traditional lecture, note- asking method. Karen Swan and Alison Bland, educational researchers, have studied and concluded that the Smart board is accessible to all learning styles and it is deemed developmentally appropriate for not only individual pupils, bur for collaborative learning as well (Swan 2007).

Swan further state’s that “Smart boards capitalizes on the value of multiple representations and visualization for teaching math and science concepts to young children and also facilitates social studies and literacy learning as we linked images to text and manipulated data, pictures, and rods” (Swan 2007). Teachers will use the Smart Boards as a means to conduct various activities that will be saved and referred back to as a means to refute or prove hypothesis. The teacher will also use the Smart board to create and organize data that can be clearly analyzed by the entire classroom of pupils.

When teachers use the Smart board, it will increase the number of participation and classroom involvement. Teachers will have to be innovative and consistent with pupils to ensure successful results. Integrating technology into the classroom has its pros as well as its cons. Technology will be used to further advance the mind of inquiring young pupils. Technology will also be used to further equip pupils for what is needed for future advancement after grade school. However, if teachers do not have a specific purpose for the use of technology, it could cause harm to pupils.

Giving pupils too much liberty with technology can result in deviation from the work that was required of the pupil, a loss of interest in what the teacher is trying to get pupils to learn, and even a delay in what the teacher is expecting the pupils to know by the end of the assessment. Therefore further delaying future objectives and goals. Teachers will monitor the pupil’s involvement and use of all forms of technology to ensure that educational and academic learning is taking place.

Classrooms will seek to be wireless classrooms. Wired classrooms will restrict some forms of learning. A wired classroom is a classroom where cables are connected to receive signals. Wireless classrooms are Just the opposite. They operate and pull internet sources from wireless points. With wireless classrooms, teachers will be able to move the technology around to appease the needs of pupils without the complications of goings internet access and signal.
